Overview

This Privacy Policy applies when you use PezaniWanu, including your account, profile, discovery features, matches, messages, verification, payments, reports, support and other services connected to the platform.

We collect information that is reasonably necessary to operate PezaniWanu, provide relevant connections, protect members and improve the service, while limiting unnecessary use or exposure of personal information.

Information You Provide

When you create and use a PezaniWanu account, you provide information about yourself. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

• your name;
• email address and phone number;
• date of birth and age;
• gender and who you are interested in meeting;
• country, region, city or other profile location information;
• your bio and profile description;
• relationship or connection preferences;
• interests and profile prompts;
• occupation, education and other profile details you choose to provide;
• photos you upload;
• information you provide during verification;
• information you send to our support, safety or privacy teams.

Some profile information is optional. If you choose to add it, remember that information placed on your dating profile may be seen by other members according to the features and privacy controls available to you.

Activity Information

Using PezaniWanu also creates information about how your account interacts with the service. This can include:

• likes, passes, matches and connection activity;
• messages and conversation activity;
• favorites;
• profile visits where that feature is available;
• blocks and reports;
• notification activity;
• subscription and plan information;
• verification status;
• account, moderation and safety actions;
• dates and times connected with important account activity.

We use this information to make the product work and to help prevent misuse of the platform.

Device & Technical Information

Like most online services, PezaniWanu may receive technical information when you use the platform. This can include your IP address, browser, device type, operating system, session information, application or browser errors and security-related activity.

We use this information to keep accounts secure, diagnose problems, prevent abuse and understand whether PezaniWanu is working properly.

Location & Discovery

Location information helps PezaniWanu show people who are relevant to your discovery preferences. Depending on the feature, this may include the country, region or city associated with your profile or other location information you choose to provide.

Your exact home address is not intended to be displayed on your dating profile. You should never put your home address or another sensitive private location in your bio, photographs or profile prompts.

You can review the location and discovery options available to your account from your profile settings.

How We Use Information

We use information for practical reasons connected to operating PezaniWanu. These include:

• creating and maintaining your account;
• showing your profile to appropriate members;
• helping you discover people based on your preferences;
• creating matches when there is mutual interest;
• providing messaging and connection features;
• processing verification;
• providing Free, Plus and Pro features;
• processing and confirming payments;
• sending important account and security notifications;
• responding to support requests;
• investigating reports and suspicious activity;
• detecting fraud, scams, harassment and attempts to evade bans;
• improving the reliability and usefulness of PezaniWanu.

Messages & Interactions

Messages and interactions are part of the PezaniWanu service. We do not treat private conversations as public profile content.

However, information from a conversation may need to be reviewed when someone reports abuse, harassment, threats, fraud, sexual exploitation, suspected child exploitation or another serious safety concern.

Do not use PezaniWanu messages to send passwords, PINs, verification codes, banking credentials or other information that could put your account, identity or money at risk.

Verification

Verification helps provide additional information about an account. If you use a verification feature, we may process the information needed to complete that verification and record whether it was successful.

A verified badge does not mean PezaniWanu guarantees a person's character, intentions, honesty or future behaviour. Continue to use good judgment even when interacting with a verified member.

Payments & Subscriptions

If you purchase a paid PezaniWanu plan or feature, we may keep information needed to identify and confirm the transaction, such as your plan, amount, payment status, transaction reference and payment date.

Payments may be handled by a payment provider. Sensitive payment credentials handled directly by that provider are not the same as the transaction records PezaniWanu keeps to know that a payment was made.

Profile Visibility

A dating platform only works if members can learn enough about each other to decide whether they are interested in connecting. Information you intentionally add to your profile may therefore be visible to other eligible members.

This can include your profile name, age, photos, general location, bio, interests, prompts, relationship goals and other profile information you choose to display.

Do not place information on your profile that you do not want other members to know.

Information Sharing

PezaniWanu does not need to sell your personal information to operate the dating service.

Information may be shared with companies that help us provide essential services such as hosting, email delivery, payments, security or other technical operations. They should only receive information needed for the service they provide.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to respond to a valid legal request, investigate serious abuse, protect a person from harm, prevent fraud or protect PezaniWanu and its members.

Data Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure of information. This includes controlling access to sensitive systems and limiting administrative access to people who need it.

No website, application or database can promise perfect security. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password and contact security@pezaniwanu.com.

Data Retention

We do not need to keep every piece of information forever. Different information may need to be kept for different lengths of time.

Information connected to an active account may be kept while the account is being used. After an account is deleted, ordinary profile information that is no longer needed may be deleted or de-identified.

Some records may need to remain for longer. Examples include payment records, fraud-prevention records, reports, moderation decisions, bans, serious safety investigations, disputes and information we are required to keep.

We keep retained information only for the reason it was retained and restrict its use accordingly.

Account Deletion

You can request permanent account deletion through Profile → Edit Profile → Account controls.

Once deletion takes effect, the deleted account is no longer an active PezaniWanu account. Its profile should no longer appear to other members, and the account can no longer be used to sign in with its previous credentials.

Account deletion does not necessarily mean that every record connected to the account is immediately destroyed.

PezaniWanu may keep limited information when it is reasonably needed to investigate reports, protect members, detect repeat abuse, prevent fraud, enforce suspensions or bans, resolve payment issues or disputes, or meet record-keeping requirements.

This is particularly important where an account has been connected to harassment, fraud, repeated abuse or another serious safety concern. Account deletion must not prevent PezaniWanu from identifying patterns of harmful behaviour or enforcing previous safety decisions.

Retained safety information is not treated as an active dating profile and should only be used for the purpose for which it was retained.

Your Privacy Choices

You can control much of the information other people see by changing your profile and available privacy settings.

You may also ask us to help with:

• correcting information that is inaccurate;
• understanding information associated with your account;
• deleting your account;
• questions about how your information is being used;
• privacy concerns that cannot be resolved through your settings.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

The PezaniWanu website may use cookies or similar technology to keep you signed in, remember important settings, protect sessions, understand service performance and make the website work correctly.

Blocking some cookies in your browser may cause parts of the website to stop working as expected.

Age Restrictions

PezaniWanu is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. A person under 18 may not create or use a PezaniWanu dating account.

If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may restrict or remove the account while the concern is investigated.

Suspected child exploitation, grooming or sexual content involving a minor should be reported immediately.

Policy Updates

PezaniWanu will change over time, so this Privacy Policy may also need to change. When an important change is made, we will update the date shown at the top of this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
