Safety Center
Meeting someone new can be exciting, but trust should develop over time. These practical steps can help you make safer decisions while using PezaniWanu and when taking a connection offline.
Building Trust
A good profile, friendly conversation or verified badge can be useful, but none of them proves everything about a person.
Take time to know someone. Pay attention when stories repeatedly change, details do not add up or someone pressures you to trust them unusually quickly.
Communication Safety
Moving immediately to another messaging service can make it harder to use PezaniWanu's safety tools if something goes wrong.
You do not have to give someone your phone number, social media account or other private contact information just because you matched.
Financial Safety
Do not send money to someone simply because you met them through PezaniWanu.
Be especially careful when someone creates urgency around a medical emergency, travel problem, family crisis, investment, business opportunity or other situation that requires you to send money quickly.
Never share your PIN, password, one-time verification code or online banking credentials.
Personal Information
Avoid sharing your home address, financial information, passwords, identification documents or other sensitive information with someone you have only recently met.
Think carefully about what can be learned from photographs too. A picture can unintentionally reveal where you live, work or spend time.
Verification
Verification can add confidence that an account completed a particular verification step. It does not guarantee that the person will behave safely or honestly.
Treat verification as one piece of information, not a replacement for your own judgment.
Planning a First Meeting
For a first meeting, choose a public place where other people are around. Avoid making your first meeting somewhere isolated or at a private home.
Tell a trusted person where you are going, who you are meeting and when you expect to return.
When possible, arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you choose.
Meeting in Person
Paying for a meal, travelling to meet you or spending time in conversation does not give another person a right to your time, attention, affection or physical intimacy.
If you feel uncomfortable, pressured or unsafe, leave when it is safe to do so and contact someone you trust.
Consent & Boundaries
Agreeing to meet someone is not consent to sexual activity. Agreeing to one thing does not mean agreeing to everything.
A person can change their mind. Pressure, threats, manipulation and coercion are not acceptable.
Age Restrictions
PezaniWanu is strictly for people aged 18 and older.
If you suspect someone is under 18, stop the interaction and report the account. Do not continue an adult dating or sexual conversation with someone you believe may be a minor.
Child Safety
Never groom, sexualize, exploit, manipulate or solicit a minor. Never request or share sexual images or videos involving anyone under 18.
Report suspected child exploitation immediately.
Blocking
Blocking is there for a reason. You do not need someone's permission to block them and you do not owe them an explanation.
Use Block when you no longer want a member to interact with you through supported PezaniWanu features.
Reporting
Report accounts involved in scams, threats, harassment, impersonation, suspected underage use, sexual exploitation or other serious safety concerns.
Include useful details when reporting. Context can help the safety team understand what happened.
Emergency Assistance
PezaniWanu is not an emergency-response service.
If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or a trusted person nearby who can help.
Safety Contact
For PezaniWanu safety concerns, use the in-platform Report feature whenever possible or contact safety@pezaniwanu.com.
